Subject: Wayne has fun.
The plot is simplistic, but with simple additions like a hearing impaired Minister, a box full of roofing tacks, or a bussinessman with less sense than his employees this movie takes off! Yes the old chestnut about the wastrel son is present, but Wayne manages to make the role fresh. Now I must say that the misogynist car lover in me deplored trading a perfectly beautiful convertible for a rundown/small town gas station, just to impress a woman? Bah! So, minus a star. This film is a gem for both fans of Romantic comedies, and for Wayne fans.
